The Warhol Celebrates 20 Years!

Has it really been THAT long? A friend remembers being there for opening night and she could scarce believe it.

Two years or twenty, one thing hasn’t changed; NO photos allowed. The only op I got was on the sofa in front of the huge photo of Andy sprawled out on the same.

Hey, it’s better than nothing. At least it’s proof I was there! πŸ™‚

20th Anniversary of The Warhol, Pittsburgh, PA

Love the silver painted brick wall, so reminiscent of the Silver Factory!

My trip could only have been made better by the appearance of a ‘Shot Marilyn’ hanging inΒ  the gallery. Go ahead, sue me for hoping! πŸ™‚

All of the folks out there who do what we do (Pop Art of any kind) should be thankful for folks like Andy, George Maciunas, and Ray Johnson, among countless others. They paved the way, set the stage and endured criticism from the masses for being outlandish, untalented, foolish, and desperate for attention. Thankfully, time has chosen to remember them and their contributions differently.

Happy Trash to you, until we meet again!
