Liberate Your Art 2015 Postcard Swap – Blog Hop!

Once again, The Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap has been an enormous success! Today, we are celebrating our success with a blog hop… A little trip around the globe to share the fruits of our labor with each other and with all of you.

My piece for the swap began as a humble two page spread in a glue book. And it was transformed into a postcard that I was happy to distribute. Here are the before and after scans…

Before: the original two-page spread

After: Printed at VistaPrint, lost the bright colors, but otherwise, it came out okay.

These are the pieces I received in the official swap, throughout the month of March…

LYA2015contemplativegardener

From: The Contemplative Gardener, this piece sustained some damage, having been torn in the postal machines, but it is still very beautiful.

LYA2015paintamasterpiece

From: Paint A Masterpiece, this sampler arrived. Very nice! Would make a great marketing tool!

From: Meena Schaldenbrand, a quilt entitled "Savor Every Second, Value Every Day." I'm sure the photographic postcard fails to do the quilt justice.

From: Ungala, "A Tribute to Women." The black border frames the piece nicely.

I was saddened to receive the final postcard. It is always a “Thank You” from Kat, signalling that the swap has officially come to an end.

Before the swap officially started, we were clamoring to trade with fellow artists. As I had only created one postcard design for this year’s swap, I elected to wait until after the swap to see if the folks received mine officially. That way, if they did, I could send another design. If you are one of the folks to whom I owe a postcard and you did not receive the one pictured above in the official swap, let me know and I will send it on to you. If you received the one pictured above and I still owe you a side swap, let me know and I’ll send out something different. I apologize for not keeping closer track of these side-swaps and want to honor my commitment.

These are the postcards I received in the side-swaps. Spoiler Alert! They are pretty AMAZING!

Long Time, No See!

Yes, I know…

I’ve been MIA since before Thanksgiving.

No warning.

No excuses.

Life just got in the way of everything else.

My sincere apologies and heartfelt gratitude goes out to those of you who faithfully returned week after week, day after day, in search of a new post, or something that would explain my absence. Your presence was felt here, I assure you.

December is lost to 2014 and January has almost come and gone! I am continually amazed at the warp speed passage of time as it literally flies by!

Many of you have filled my mail box to overflowing these past few months. THANK YOU! You can’t possibly know how touched I was to receive your mail art and your Christmas and New Year’s wishes!

Normally, I would fill a blog post, or two, or ten with your correspondence. This time, I’m going to resist. No long blog-jam to share and say thank you, in a lame attempt to catch up… Instead, if it’s all the same to you, I’ll let the New Year begin to work here and start fresh. If I owe you mail, watch the post….

Nor will there be a post to update my MailArt 365 progress. If you thought the last ones were lengthy, a catch-up now would take forever to write and read. Instead, you can browse pics of my progress and that of other participating artists here: http://mailart365.blogspot.com/

My only dip back into 2014 is this… A HUGE THANK YOU!!! to all of the ladies who created pages in my Zetti-Style Glue Book as it made its way through the Round Robin. (You know who you are!) It has come home in grand style and I am delighted to have shared that journey with all of you!

The pictures simply don’t do it justice, but take a peek for yourselves…

Arriving in Style

Julia sent the glue book home to The Studio at Piney Creek Acres in grand style! The gifties were sooo over-the-top!

Before the book went out, I created my own center spread. I had an idea that I didn't want to forget in the time my book was away. It did not disappoint.

Thank you, Everyone! The Zetti-Style Mini Glue Book Round Robin was a huge success!

The New Year has seen me dabbling in the studio, but not nearly as much as I might like. Here are a few of the things I’ve done…

This pair of earrings was created especially in support of my favorite Juke Joint, Wooley Bully's. Their drink chips are glow-in-the-dark guitar picks! I couldn't resist drilling them to create these!

Some of us are beginning a new journey this year, into a world of healing growth through art. This was my interpretation of our first project, Show of Hands.
