Guess who turned 50?! First Installment

Oh, Happy Days!

For the month leading up to the Big Day, all of the incoming Birthday mail art was collected and saved. I began opening them when I needed a lift and boy, oh boy!

A BIG THANK YOU!!! to all who participated!

There were so many that I have decided to split it out into several posts, of which, this is the first installment.

Several of my Art Sisters sent lovely greetings… I was touched that Lynne even included me in the Feather Swap we held, in which I declined to participate. Isn’t it sweet?

Local friends also sent some great wishes…

My cousin, Belinda Brown, got in on the action with this very personal collage piece. She used pics of me interspersed with all things originating the year I was born… Can you guess the common thread?

Some of the things surprised me… Did not know that my beloved Pens were 50 this year, which makes it even more awesome that they won the Stanley Cup,again! (for the 5th time, jus’ sayin’) Knew that Lite-Brite and I were the same age, but Kerplunk was a surprise.

Can you believe there’s more still on the way? I’ll have more to share tomorrow….

Happy Trash to you, until we meet again!

Liberate Your Art (LYA) Side Swaps Are In!

Even though it’s been weeks since the Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap took place, I have recently received what I think is the last of the side swaps.

It was fun exchanging postcard prints with those folks who had extras and wanted to swap. It always is.

This year, I elected to send out mine first, letting folks receive them and send to the return address, rather than exchanging addresses up front. I did it that way so that I would be held accountable. It is all too easy for things to get away from me these days and I did not wish to let anyone down.

Pictured below are the ten postcards I received back, along with the artist credits.

Clockwise from the top left: Deanie Houghtaling, Lynne Foerster, Jill Eudaly (The 365 Flowers Project: and Patricia Lawrence.

Left to right: Louise Mamet ( and Janice Darby

Clockwise from the top left: Sheila Delgado ( Julia Jacques, Margaret Henning ( and Terry Owenby.

This was a mere sampling of the variety and yummy goodness liberated by artists around the globe in this year’s Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap. I count myself fortunate to have been able to swap with so many talented contemporaries. If you haven’t participated, please think about joining us in 2017.

Happy Trash to you, until we meet again!
