The contents spilling forth from the box represents three months worth of incoming mail art. I haven’t been sending out much these days, as I focused on projects of larger scope. I hope to remedy that in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, let’s take a closer look at my mail art loot! Each piece, unique in its own way, delighted me.
Jill Eudaly of Recycled Daze ( http://www.jeudaly.blogspot.com/) sent me a block print of the Red-Winged Blackbird she created this spring.
In addition to the fantastic interactive trash bubble (https://trashbubblesandlifeslittlebits.wordpress.com/2013/04/25/in-the-mail-bubbles-by-post/) sent by Mim Golub Scalin ( http://mim4art.blogspot.com/) I also received a fine art collage post card: El Anatsui meets Yayoi Kusama. On the back she inscribed this quote by Mark Stevens, “One of the best things about paintings is their silence— which prompts reflection and random reverie.” I wholeheartedly agree!
I received this colorful, doodled patchwork from Stripygoose who resides in the UK.

The first piece accompanied exhibit documentation she sent me for my participation in The Unexpected Art in Transit. What a great little guy! Squee!

Trash Po from Diane Keys is always intriguing. This particular piece arrived in the same exact cellophane packet (right down to the postage) in which I mailed my last piece to her. Kudos to you, DK!
Theresa Williams is the woman behind http://theletterproject.wordpress.com/. She tells me that the goat piece is a remake of a favorite childhood toy, to be included in the upcoming Epistolarium doll project.
Carina Granlund is from Finland. (Can I just say how much I LOVE their postage stamps?!) This magazine collage sealed beneath packing tape holds a certain mystique, telling us ever so subtly to SEARCH!
